The EMSCULPT procedure feels like an intensive workout of muscles in the target area being treated. The variable level is increased by the EMSCULPT specialist during the treatment based on your feedback. The level is gradually increased over the series of treatments. You can lay down, relax, watch TV, and talk during the treatment. Use of portable electronic devices is not recommended since proximity to the EMSCULPT applicator may cause damage to delicate electronics.

The number of treatments required is dependent on your desired results and where you are starting in terms of muscle tone and undesirable fat. One series of EMSCULPT treatment will increase muscle up to 16% and reduce fat by up to 19% in the treated area. Many people are pleased with the results of just one series of 4 treatments of EMSCULPT. Some people feel that they need more than one series of treatments to achieve their desired results. The protocols are based on years of clinical testing. Muscles have the highest potential for improvements during the first few treatments which corresponds with what have been proven in studies for physical exercise. The 4 x 30min protocol is the best balance between time and results.
Emsculpt is intended for improvement of abdominal tone, strengthening of the abdominal muscles, and development of a firmer abdomen. Also, Emsculpt is indicated for strengthening, toning, firming of the buttocks, thighs, arms, and calves.
- EMSCULPT is not an EMS device. It does not use electrodes to flow current in the body. It creates a magnetic field in the tissues
- Electric Stimulation is very localized, superficial and flows electric current from one electrode to another while stimulating a muscle. EMSCULPT penetrates up to 7cm below the skin and polarizes all the motor nerves in a neural network and which causes the stimulation of all the muscles in a treated area
- EMSCULPT is an MRI grade device and can deliver 2 Tesla of magnetic field
- TENS / EMS needs a conductive medium to work, whereas EMSCULPT does not
- EMSCULPT shows a positive muscular change in just 4 treatments compared to a TENS/EMS unit which needs 40-50 treatments to show even a small change
EMSCULPT is highly effective for building muscle and reducing fat – up to 19% per series of treatments – on the abdomen. EMSCULPT may result in some skin tightening in the treated area, however, EMSCULPT is not a skin tightening treatment.
While pain and discomfort are relative and experiences will vary, EMSCULPT involves minimal discomfort, if any.
