Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) to Eliminate Stretch Marks

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) to Eliminate Stretch Marks | ChicagoStretch marks are typically caused by the stretching and tearing of the outer layer of the skin or the dermis. Pregnancy, weight fluctuations, muscle building and surgical implants are common causes of stretch marks. One of the revolutionary new non-surgical med spa treatments for stretch marks is platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy.

Sky Balance Medical Spa is a premier facility led by Dr. Sameer Naseeruddin. The med spa is equipped to provide the latest cutting edge aesthetic solutions, including PRP treatment for stretch marks. Patients in Schaumburg, Chicago, IL, and surrounding locations have an opportunity to receive PRP therapy at Sky Balance.

Comprehensive Reduction of Stretch Marks

While a variety of non-invasive treatments are available today, including lasers, which can be used to treat stretch marks, they may produce less than satisfactory results in many cases. PRP therapy is a highly promising new med spa technique that can actually heal and eliminate stretch marks up to 100 percent.

PRP is combined with Micro Needling or targeted injection therapy to treat a wide range of skin imperfections, including stretch marks. The areas commonly treated with PRP for stretch marks include the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, and upper arms. Sky Balance medical spa receives patients from Schaumburg, Chicago, IL, and nearby areas for PRP treatment.

How does PRP work?

PRP treatment for stretch marks is based on the natural process called “heating cascade.” This involves a series of regeneration and remodeling steps in the body. When the external tissue injury occurs, the body triggers a response to increase the production of “signal proteins” that can be used at the trauma site.

These signal proteins consist of platelets, white blood cells, and adult stem cells. The signal proteins concentrated in PRP include growth factors that will help generate the production of fresh collagen and elastin, which will reduce stretch marks from the inside out in a natural looking way.

Procedure

Once the targeted site of stretch marks has been prepared, which involves inducing fibroblast, the provider will inject PRP into the collagen under the skin. A spacing of one inch along a horizontal line will be used. The lines will be separated vertically about 1½ inches. The same conditions are used to treat the entire affected area.

The PRP injections release growth factors and cells into the areas where the collagen has been stimulated. The natural healing cascade process will increase the amount of fresh collagen production as the release of growth factors increases. This will enable the skin to become tauter and smoother.

Once the required PRP has been injected into the targeted area, additional PRP will be used as a topical application. The PRP may be blended with Thrombin JMI to create a gel, which is the base with the biological makeup as living tissue. This gel is applied topically over the entire affected area.

The combination of PRP injected into the collagen as well as used as a topical covering will help heal the stretch marks from both ends. As the skin elasticity and volume improves, the stretch marks will be reduced and heal from the application of topical PRP.
